White River Region
The White River Region – PCA is a new region in Northwest Arkansas, including the counties of Benton, Boone, Carroll, Crawford, Franklin, Johnson, Madison, Newton, Sebastian and Washington.
The goal of our club is to bring together Porsche owners and enthusiasts in a friendly environment, promoting good will through the mutual enjoyment of the worlds greatest marque!
Porsche Club Of America
Porsche club of America (PCA) is comprised of over 140 chartered regions. The regions are grouped into 13 zones. Each zone provides a Region representative to the PCA at the national level. They convey the regional interests and guide National in the club’s priorities at the local levels. The local level is where the strength of the organization lies, and where most members get the chance to interact with fellow enthusiasts.
The Zone 5 area consists of 12 regions encompassing most of Texas and Oklahoma, and all of Arkansas and Louisiana, all of whom actively participate on Zone activities. Some of these activities can be found on the Zone website at http://zone5.pca.org. When you join PCA, you either join or are assigned to a region.
What kinds of activities are offered?
Different regions offer different activities. Following is a brief description of the kinds of activities usually offered by PCA:
Dinner Meetings: The motto of PCA is “it’s not just the cars, it’s the people”. Dinner meetings and other social gatherings allow us to enjoy the camaraderie of others who share our passion for the marque.
Driving tours: Northwest Arkansas offers some of the best Porsche roads in the country. Driving tours offer a chance to enjoy these roads with fellow PCA members, where the journey is just as enjoyable as the destination. Tours can be for a few hours or over a weekend.
Rally: A rally can be competitive or for fun. The objective of a rally is to follow a course, usually on public roads, to the precise detail specified in the rules. Competitive rallies dictate a certain schedule for the checkpoints along the way. Points are deducted by arriving at the checkpoint either early or late. Fun rallies may include a gimmick (poker rally, regional interest).
Concours: A concours is a judged event where cars are prepared to “as delivered” condition from the factory. Points are deducted from a maximum possible value based on condition and cleanliness. Various concours rules are used depending on the level of competition.
Autocross: An autocross is a closed-course driving event where the objective is to complete the course in a safe manner in the shortest amount of time possible (fastest overall speed). These are held using a large open paved area with the course marked by pylons.
Drivers Education/Time Trial: Drivers Education events offer an opportunity to drive your Porsche at speed on a race track (i.e. Hallett Motor Racing Circuit), but under very controlled conditions. The emphasis is on safety and education as opposed to racing.
Club Racing: PCA Club Racing is an organized race series for Porsche owners. The rules are similar to vintage racing. See www.pca.org for more information.
