White River Region in conjunction with Ozark and Cimarron Regions held its 14th annual Porsche Palooza on November 8-10 at the Inn of the Ozarks Convention Center in Eureka Springs, AR. Held on the second weekend in November, the event has grown from 57 cars in 2005 to over 300 Porsches from 13 different states as far away as Florida and three days of all things Porsche. Palooza hosts multiple driving tours over the three days through the fall foliage landscape of Northwest Arkansas and Southwest Missouri. This year’s tours included winery tours in Altus, AR, castle tours in Beaver, AR and canyon carving drives to unique gastronomical discoveries such as the Cliff House in Jasper, AR and the Cave restaurant in SW Missouri. Each day culminated in a banquet in the evening with Saturday evening being the award ceremony and drawing of door prizes.
The weather wasn’t quite agreeable Thursday and Friday but Saturday brought sunshine and warmer temperatures just in time for the Porsche Parade through downtown Eureka Springs. Following the Parade was Show and Shine. As in past years, this event was popular vote. A unique voting app developed by Mill Creek Software allowed participants to cast votes using their cell phones plus sped up the process of tallying votes. Sponsorship for the event was good including out of state main sponsor Dallas Motorsports and in state sponsors like Ozark Imports, Ehrlich Motorwerks and Garrett Tire Center.
